Risk assessments are required by law to identify and control significant risks in the workplace. Employers must carry out risk assessments and take reasonably practicable precautions to protect their employees from harm. Carrying out risk assessments is one of the most important steps in improving a health and safety culture.
As part of managing the health and safety of your business, you must control the risks in your workplace. To do this you need to think about what might cause harm to people and decide whether you are doing enough to prevent that. This activity-based training will give managers, supervisors and staff the tools and knowledge on how to carry out a risk assessment in their workplace. They may then become ‘champions’ to their colleagues so that more staff are aware of significant and relevant risks in their workplace.
